About xcdl

The project

The xPack Component Manager project is part of the xPack Reproducible Build Framework and is hosted on GitHub as xpack/xcdl-cli-ts.

The project history

The xcdl history is presented in a separate History page.

The web site

The first wiki pages for the xCDL project were written in 2013, after the first experiments with the Python version were performed (refer to the Old version (Python) pages).

In October 2015, the site was migrated to GitHub Pages under the name of XCDL, using an in-house developed Jekyll Wiki-like theme. In 2017 the name was revised to xPack/XCDL, to signify its association with the xPack Project, but further work on the XML based version was deferred.

In November 2024, the xcdl-cli-ts project was initiated to facilitate the development of the new TypeScript version.

In December 2024, the website content was added in the website folder, as an instance of the Docusaurus template. Additionally, a GitHub Action was added to automatically publish the site upon any pushes to the website Git branch.
